Five boys and girls, ages 10 to 14, were named local champions of the 2011 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship that was held Sunday January 16th. They have earned the right to compete at the district level.
The following were champions for their age groups:
Nathan Blong - 10 year boys
Ethan Curnette- 12 year boys
Quintin Storm 13 year boys
Ellie Bengston-13 year girls
Ben Morrett- 14 year boys

Each contestant was allowed 15 free throw attempts in the event.
Each of these winners will compete in the district competition to be held in Osceola on February 6, 2011. Doors open at 12:30; competition starts at 1:00 PM. It will be at the Clarke Community High School. Use Entry #3 on south side of building. The winners from the district competition will advance to the regional meet February 27th. No details of date, place and time for regionals at this time. The winners of regionals advance to state which is Sunday, March 13 at Clarion Goldfield High School (1111 Willow Drive) in Clarion, IA. The competition begins at 1:00 p.m.
