2010 Activities:
+Paid ½ of cost for SH students who participated in CELEBRATE
+$250 HyVee gift card given to a family whose home burned.
+Families of new babies in the church would be given a special photo book.
+$500 was set aside to be used as a “Family in Need Fund.”
+Funeral dinners: Money given by families for funeral dinners will go to the church to pay for purchased items first.
+Funeral dinners: Served three this year and provided dessert for one
+Purchased a second stove for the parish center
+Out Reach committee continues to be supported by the ladies.
+Donate the cookies for Bob Anderson’s blood dive project.
+Lunch for the 2010 graduation class members from our church and their families was served to 33 people.
+June rummage sale raised $1,701.05 for 2010-11 budget.
+90 attended the Confirmation dinner served by the WOSH
+New sign was purchased to advertise rummage sales.
+6 light weight tables were purchased for the church basement and a fan for the choir to use in the choir loft
+WOSH members ate in Humeston at the Grass Roots.
+Coffee at Legacy Lodge was held and a donation to the chapel will be made in 2011.
+Christmas Brunch was held at Gloria Lee’s house with 14 members attending. 25 Christmas plates of cookies and fruit were put together and delivered to elderly, shut-ins/sick of the parish.
+Mats were purchased for the kitchen
+Gave money from “Family in Need Fund” to several
+Collected or purchased sweatpants/ clothing for Columbus School children.
+Each month some of the WOSH go with Father for Mass at Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center and to visit with church members at Northridge.
+Secretary sends cards to members of the church each month that have something happening in their life to let them know we are thinking of them and/or praying for them.
We ask that each lady of the parish become a member….active or in-active
of the women’s group. Dues are only $5/year and may be placed in an envelope and dropped in the collection basket or given to Evelyn Pollard, treasurer.
