Women of Sacred Heart will meet this Thursday, April 19th, 6:30 P.M. in the Parish Center. Pat Thompson will give the program on RCIA classes. Gloria Lee and Barb Kaufman will be serving refreshments. All ladies of the parish are encouraged to attend.
Women of Sacred Heart met on March 15, 2012.
The meeting was opened by President, Jaynane Hardie, with a prayer by Barb Kaufman.
There were 10 members present.
Pat Thompson gave a very informative program on Divine Mercy and Saint Faustina. She told of the 3 main tasks given to Helen/Sister Faustina by Jesus and about Divine Mercy Sunday.
The minutes were read and approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Sandy reported a balance of $2640.75 which included in this is $395 held for “Family Fund”. We are still waiting on the credit of $27.95 for check charge. We paid $100 to Parents and Child First. She reported 31 paid members and 2 paid this evening.
Manor Mass: 3 people attended and Pauline O’Conner is a new resident at the Manor.
Pat reported on RCIA. Candidates are Tom Anderson, Jenny Snook-Hall and Ryan Pyner. It was suggested that we send them a card and welcome basket.
Interchurch Council: Sandy reported the meeting was held at Sacred Heart. She said they served 59 families-1267 meals. There were 5 new families. Harbor House is sponsoring the Passion of the Christ at 2 p.m. on Good Friday.
Funeral dinner for Donna Kasper was served. They served 106 people.
Senior brunch is moving right along. Pat sent letters to Jr. parents. We have 13 graduates. Graduation is May 20th.
There will be a birthday party for Helen M. on March 29th at Hospice at 11 a.m. Helen will be 98 years young.
American Cancer Society Relay for Life will be held on August 3rd. We are to donate corn. HyVee can provide this and deliver it for $60. This will serve 150 people. A motion was made by Evelyn to have HyVee do this and Barb seconded this. Motion carried.
Our rummage sale will be May 31, June 1 & 2. Fall Festival will be the 2nd Sunday of September. Gloria & Barb will serve refreshments at our next meeting on April 19th. Norma moved to adjourn, seconded by Barb. The meeting was closed with a prayer.
