Friday, August 7, at the Shrine of Most Blessed Sacrament there was a holy hour for priests. Many faithful attended. So much so that we had to share the pamphlets for the service. On leaving the friars asked us not to take the pamphlets with us. The service for the holy hour was so beautiful people did not want to give up the pamphlets and offered the friars money in return. The following is a litany that was said during the holy hour. Since it is the Year of the Priest you may want to add this to your daily devotions.

Missionary priests, Protect them, Lord.

Parish priests, Give them prudence, Lord.
Religious priests, Make them perfect, Lord.
Priests and religious who have died, Bring them glory, Lord.
On all the Church, militant and suffering, Lord, have mercy.
For all priests, Give them your wisdom, Lord.

For all priests, Give them patience and charity.
For all priests, Give them obedience and kindness
For all priests, Give them a burning zeal for souls.
For all priests, Give them an intense love for the Eucharist.
For all priests, Give them loyalty to the Holy See and to their Bishops.
