Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy we have been born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and to an inheritance which is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
1 Peter 1:3-5 (RSVCE)
Wisdom from our Saints
"O Death, where is your sting? O Hell, where is your victory? Christ is risen, and you are overthrown. Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen. Christ is risen, and the angels rejoice. Christ is risen, and life reigns. Christ is risen, and not one dead remains in the grave. For Christ, being risen from the dead, is become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. To Him be glory and dominion unto ages of ages." (St. John Chrysostom, Easter Homily)
Time is running our to buy tickets for the Christ Our Life Conference (October 16 & 17th). Tickets for the conference are $48 for adults and $30 for students. After Ocotber 1 the cost of tickets will increase. Adults will be $58 and youth will be $35.
The conference venue has changed to the Wells Fargo Arena. Due to this change the conference committee has a new promotion called "Seats for Souls": purchase 5 tickets and the 6th ticket is free. Youth groups will be able to split the cost of the free ticket and instead of the cost of $30 a piece the group of 6 will be paying $25 a piece. Tickets for a group of 6 adults will now be $40 a piece.
There is more good news for youth groups. They will be able to have lunch(pizza) and a Q&A session with Rennee Bondi and Magnus McFarlane. Magnus McFarlane was recently chosen to be presented to the Pope during the Pope's visit to Scotland. Jon Leonetti will be the host for this event.
